Man Charged After Police Find 55kg of Cannabis in His Car

At 11.00am on 29 July, a 36-year-old man was found to have more than 55 kilograms of cannabis in his possession within his vehicle during a standard police stop on the Hume Highway, approximately 30 kilometres outside of Gundagai.

The man, who has been charged with drug supply offences after police seized the drugs, was arrested on the scene and taken to the Cootamundra Police Station, where Riverina Detectives took carriage of the matter.

The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was charged with supply prohibited drug more than commercial quality and was refused bail.
He faced court that same day.
