The Gundagai LHAC is hosting a community coffee chat at KJ’s Club Cafe at 11am on Thursday 18 June to facilitate more opportunities for community members to share their experiences and perspectives on local health services, as identified by the LHAC Committee as a key priority.
This relaxed and informal gathering is open to everyone. Whether you regularly access health services, care for a family member, work in the health sector, or simply have an interest in the wellbeing of our community, we encourage you to come along.
The coffee chat is an opportunity to:
• Meet local LHAC members
• Learn more about the role of the committee
• Share your experiences of local healthcare services
• Discuss what services are working well in our community
• Identify gaps or challenges people are experiencing when accessing healthcare
• Provide feedback on local health priorities and future needs
“We are particularly interested in hearing community feedback regarding access to allied health services. Allied health professionals play a vital role in supporting health and wellbeing and include services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, dietetics, podiatry, psychology, and social work,” said an LHAC spokesperson via a post to Facebook.
“Many rural communities face challenges in accessing specialist and allied health services and hearing directly from local residents helps us to better understand where improvements may be needed. Positive feedback is equally important, as it allows us to recognise what is working well and advocate for the continuation of valued services.”
As a thank you for your participation, LHAC are offering a free cuppa for everyone who attends. There is no formal agenda and no need to register – simply come along, enjoy a cuppa, and join the conversation.
The committee hopes this event will be the first of many opportunities for informal community engagement throughout the year.
