The 134th Annual Gundagai Show returns to Gundagai Showground this Friday and Saturday, offering the community a celebration of agriculture, entertainment and strong community spirit. Enjoy two massive days featuring cattle, horses, poultry, pavilion exhibits, working dogs, show dogs, vintage displays, sideshow alley and show bags.
Capital Country Woodchopping is again set to return this year and will bring a showcase of strength and skill to the main arena. Dan McDonnell, Gundagai Show President, says this event is always a crowd pleaser.
“The main entertainment for this year is the woodchop, which everyone loves, and they do such a great job. We are looking forward to hosting them again,” said Dan.
“Another new thing we have this year is the People’s Choice Award for the Pavilion entries. This year, people can vote via QR codes, and they will be voting on all the displays around the wall. We’ve got displays from all the schools from Gumnut right through to the High School, so this is just a new thing as a perpetual trophy,” said Dan.
The sheep dog trials will also now kick off at 3.30pm on Friday afternoon, due to the large number of entrants and will also run throughout Saturday.
The cattle dog trials will be held at 6.30pm on Friday evening, where there will be a bar and BBQ for spectators. Entry to the Showground is free on Friday.
Dan McDonnell once again highlighted the importance of the support they receive from sponsors in running the show.

Gates open from 6am and entry is $15 for adults, $5 for children aged 5-16, $35 for a family, $5 for pensioners, and children under 5 are free.
