The Capital Country Woodchopping from the 2025 Gundagai Show.
The Gundagai P&A Committee is excited to welcome the community to the 134th Annual Gundagai Show on Friday 13th to Saturday, 14th February.
The event is always a celebration of agriculture, entertainment and strong community spirit. Enjoy two massive days featuring cattle, horses, sheep, poultry, pavilion exhibits, working dogs, show dogs, a petting zoo, a reptile show, vintage displays, a sideshow alley and show bags.
This year will also feature a caricature artist who will be drawing caricatures for free. Capital Country Woodchopping is returning for 2026 and brings a showcase of strength and skill to the main arena.
President of the Pastoral & Agricultural Society Dan McDonnell said, as always, the Committee’s objective is to put on a show that has plenty for people to do and see inside that doesn’t cost money.
“Entry fees are minimal. A family pass is reasonable, and it is $35 for two adults and as many kids as you like. Our objective has always been to put on a show that once you’re in the gate, there is plenty to see and do that doesn’t cost any more money,” Dan said.
“We have lots of interest for competitors, and the horse section will be strong again too as far as entries across both days.”
According to Dan, the showjumping program continues to attract some of the best riders in Australia, making Gundagai one of NSW’s leading rural equestrian venues.
“We have had a lot of interest in the dog trials again. The cattle dog trials will be on the Friday night from about 6.30pm, and it is free entry with a bar and a BBQ,” Dan said.
The main show will take place on Saturday with the pavilion, sideshow alley, rides and other exhibits. Friday is free entry for all, but will only feature the horse events and the cattle dog trials.
“The main entertainment for this year is the woodchop, which everyone loves, and they do such a great job. We are looking forward to hosting them again,” said Dan.
The P&A Committee wants to remind the community that there is free parking onsite at the showground, and encourage patrons to drive further into the grounds to take advantage of it.
Dan said the support of sponsors helps preserve the Show’s rural heritage and ensures continued growth for many years to come.
