2025 Women’s Major Singles Champion Sharon Armstrong.
Saturday, 13th December saw our club come together for a festive afternoon of bowls, laughter, and celebration. The day began with a novelty grudge match — the much-anticipated “Battle of the Sexes” — pitting the men against the women.
Around 30 bowlers took to the green at 10am, just before the rain rolled in. The women claimed bragging rights in style, aided by the day’s honorary fill-in “woman” bowler, Joe “Josephine” Bond.
In what became the running joke of the afternoon, Joe delivered his best performance of the year, helping secure the win for the ladies.
After the match, players and guests enjoyed a delicious spread of prawns, chicken, and coleslaw before settling in for the annual Awards Presentation.
The ceremony recognised outstanding achievements across the year, with trophies and accolades handed out to deserving winners.

The combined Christmas Party and Awards Presentation was a fitting way to close out the year blending friendly rivalry, good food, and recognition of the talent and dedication that keeps our club thriving.
