Sheridan Street will come to life next week for ‘Christmas on Sheridan’, Gundagai’s annual Christmas carnival with fun for all ages.
From 5-9 pm next Friday, 5 December, Sheridan Street will come to life for Gundagai’s annual Christmas Carnival, with live music and entertainment, market stalls, kids’ entertainment, Christmas craft and roving performers.
Casey Polsen from the Gundagai Information Centre said they have arranged a great lineup of entertainment this year.
“After the official opening at 5 pm, Gundagai High School will be performing, then we will have a visit from Santa, Christine Wishart’s dance studio are doing a dance ensemble, there will also be some traditional dances done by some of the Pacific Islander employees from GMP, we’ve also got the Country Makers Markets again this year and then some roving performers from Cirque Um Navigate entertainment, who are new this year,” said Casey.
“The event is just a really big community event where we get everyone together for Christmas. Hopefully, there will be some businesses that open for late-night shopping. It is just a really nice night to get everyone together to celebrate Christmas in Gundagai.”
“The Criterion will also be running their Christmas raffle that night, as well as the Men’s Shed, which is organising the ham wheels, so we have a lot of people coming together for the event,” said Casey.
This event is funded through the NSW Government’s Open Streets Program led by Transport for NSW.
