On Friday, 5 December, the newly refurbished Gundagai Visitor Information Centre, toilet block, lift, and change facility will be officially opened at an invite-only networking event.
The milestone marks the completion of significant upgrades, designed to enhance the visitor experience. The refurbishment was funded by the Stronger Communities Fund, the Stronger Country Communities Fund and the NSW Government’s Lift and Change program.
After the formalities, there will be light refreshments and the opportunity for attendees to explore the new displays and connect with community representatives, producers and local tourism operators.
Casey Polsen from Visit Gundagai said the event is also an opportunity for local suppliers and producers to network.
“Steph Cooke will be in attendance as well as all our local suppliers, to allow them to come together and showcase their product here and network with other suppliers,” said Casey.
“We’ve got suppliers who are coming from Tumut as well as down near Holbrook, so the stock that we stock here is from within a 150km radius. It’s all very localised, but we are trying to get all the suppliers here so they can network and help with their promotion.”
“It will be a nice opportunity to get everyone together. We are also hoping to have some wine tastings from our local wineries, among other things. We just want everyone to see how lovely the space is here and how we are showcasing all the items from our suppliers in the shop,” said Casey.
