New Café in Gundagai Offers a Relaxing Space for Families and Visitors

The vibrant new café, Gather in Gundagai, has officially opened its doors recently, offering locals and visitors a relaxing spot to enjoy good food, great company, and a safe, family-friendly environment.

The café, run by Mitch Waddell and his wife Ashley, is located in the Gym and Pool Complex.

“We are really excited to be offering a place where families can come and enjoy themselves,” said Mitch.

“The café is located in a great spot, with access to the kids’ playground, barbecue areas, and plenty of lawn space. It’s a safe, enclosed area, making it perfect for families with children. They can run around and play while parents can relax and enjoy a coffee or a meal.”

Though Gather in Gundagai has had a soft launch, Mitch reported that the response so far has been great.

“Last weekend, we had about 60 patrons, and there were at least 12 kids playing with bubbles, yard games, and blocks,” he said. “It’s fantastic to see so many families enjoying the space.”

The café’s menu is still being finalised, but Mitch was eager to share some of the offerings.

“We’re working with an Egyptian artisan bakery that delivers fresh sourdough bread, pastries, bagels, and croissants. We’ll also be adding Middle Eastern treats like baklava and semolina cakes,” Mitch explained. “We’re also offering smoothies, coffees, toasties, pizzas, and waffles.”

With the summer season winding down and the pool now closed, Gather in Gundagai plans to remain open and continue serving customers as they relax in the spacious outdoor area.

“We’ve always thought about how to better utilise the space, especially during the pool season,” Mitch said.

“The pool is now fenced off, so the kids are safe, and we have plenty of tables, chairs, and umbrellas. It’s a great spot for families to stretch out and enjoy the fresh air and views.”

The café isn’t just about food—it’s also about community. “We wanted to offer something different for Gundagai. A place where people can meet, enjoy healthy food, and maybe even participate in a yoga class or work out in the gym,” Mitch added.

In addition to the café, Mitch and Ashley are working on expanding their services. “Ash is planning some fun events, like little girl’s princess tea parties, and we’re planning to launch a Facebook page soon,” he said.

For now, the café is open and welcoming customers with its new Instagram page to keep everyone updated on the latest news. If you’re looking for a relaxing space to enjoy a bite to eat, let the kids play, or catch up with friends, Gather in Gundagai is definitely worth a visit.
