A Tractor Pull will be held on February 22 at the showground. In combination with the Swap Meet held by the Australian Road Transport Heritage Centre, it promises to be a great day out.
On the day there will be vintage tractor pulls, swap markets and collectables stalls, truck show and shine, stationary and steam engine displays, heavy horse events, food, drinks, CJ Deans reunion and much more.
Graham Rose, Secretary of the ARTHC said, “we have a tractor pull on and it’s a three sled. We are expecting between 30-40 tractors competing.

“We have a swap meet and at the weekend we had over 100 sites booked and there will be a few more. There’s a show and shine for trucks. There’s a couple of car clubs coming and we have a couple of stationary and steam engine clubs coming with their putt putt engines.
“We have the heavy horse team from Temora coming and they put on a demonstration with the draught horses.
“Owen Blundell and his cousin are singing and putting on a concert mid-afternoon.
“We have a canteen and coffee vans, and ice cream vans, barbecue and there is also a reunion for all CJ Dean ex-drivers and they are expecting about 100 there for that.

“It’s a great event and we probably get as many people there as what they get at the show. People go out afterwards and spend money in the town.
“You don’t have to worry about entering if you have a tractor. You just lob up on the morning and fill in the paper-work. Anyone wanting a swap meet site needs to go onto the ARTHC website and have a look there for details.”
What a great day out in Gundagai, so why not go for a drink, a chat with old friends or just to enjoy a great event in a great town.
