The Gundagai Tigers will play Junee Diesels on Sunday at ANZAC Park, and in lieu of a formal season launch, they invite everyone back to the Gundagai Services Club after the first home game to celebrate the start of the season.
In the meantime, they are doing a first-grade jersey auction and invite everyone to get in on the action.
Each jersey number is up for auction 1–13 and all reserves together (14-20). Each jersey number will have a reserve of $200, i.e. to be valid, your bid must be above $200. The highest bidder for each number at 6:00pm on Saturday, 18 April, wins that number for the season.
Note: if you are the highest bidder, the Tiger Facebook page will let you know if you have been outbid (if things get close towards the end of bidding, they will do their best to keep everyone updated, but to avoid disappointment, get your bids in early).
If you win a jersey number, you “own” that number for all home games. There are eight home games throughout the year. If your number scores the first try at a home game, you win the prize pool for that game.
EXAMPLE:
• You win jersey #5.
• Round 3 home game – #5 scores first try.
• You win that round’s prize.
PRIZE POOL:
Total funds from all winning bids are combined.
50 percent to go to the club.
50 percent to go into the prize pool.
The prize pool is split evenly across eight home games i.e. if the prize pool is $10,000.00, $5,000.00 will be divided by eight, leaving $625.00 to the winner at each home game.
BIDDING RULES:
To bid, you can either comment your bid on the individual jersey number photo posted on the Tigers page, or message the Tigers page privately, indicating the number of the jersey that you would like to bid on and the amount of the bid.
No editing or deleting bids in Facebook comments.
Payment can be done via EFT, card or cash at the Canteen during our first home game. If you aren’t at the home game, then please contact the Tigers page for EFT details.

If this is successful, they will try this with the other grades or potentially live after the first home game.
