Returning for 2026 to the Gundagai Showground is the Australian Road Transport Heritage Centre’s (ARTHC) Tractor Pull and Swap Meet.
Running from 7.00am to 4.00pm on Saturday, 21 February, the day will include motorsports, machinery displays and family-friendly entertainment for all.
Featuring vintage tractor pulls, a swap meet, market and collectable stalls, a truck show, stationery and steam engine displays, and heavy horse events, food and drink stalls will be available to satiate every appetite after a full day of sightseeing.
Clubs and vehicle enthusiasts are encouraged to attend with rods, classic, vintage and veteran cars, trucks, bikes and machinery (all of which are welcome and encouraged).
Darryl Weston from the ARTHC says all proceeds from the day go towards the ARTHC. “It is a big event for us. It helps with our running costs,” he said.
The main events will feature the tractor pull, swap meet, truck show and a heavy horse exhibition with the swap meet set to kick off “as soon as the sun is up” (approximately 6.30am to 7.00am).
The tractor pull is scheduled to start at 9.00am. “We are hoping to have a jumping castle for kids, as well as a barbecue and drinks,” said Darryl. “There will be a fair bit of heritage as all the tractors are old, and the old draft horses are pretty interesting to see too.”
More than two thirds of the tractors on display are coming from outside the town. According to Darryl, the biggest problem the team has experienced is the cost of diesel and transportation. However, this minute problem hasn’t stopped the 3000 participants involved in the process of transporting their vintage trucks and tractors along to the event.
Entering their 11th year, entry is $10 or $20 for a family. Children under 16 are free and camping is available on site for all displays and stalls. Market stallholders must book their spots before 16 February, 2026.
The event has been running for about 11 or 12 years now with around 3000 people involved each year.
