The annual Snake Gully Cup Fashions on the Field competition will once again be hotly contested on Friday 14 November, with organisers expecting an abundance of Spring colour and unique styling.
The four categories this year include Best Dressed, Best Dressed Visitor, Best Suited and Best Headwear. The Best Dressed Local category is open to those who reside within the Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council or Snowy Valleys Council.
Best Dressed Visitor will be open to anyone who resides outside these council areas.
The Times caught up with Renee Lindley, FOTF Event Co ordinator who revealed the judges and sponsors for this year’s event.
“Unfortunately, this year Sally Pitt is unable to judge again, so we have Sue Curry who is a personal branding expert and keynote speaker and also former Miss Australasia, and also Michael Rogers who is formally of Chanel, and Michael has also judged previously.”
“This year our prize sponsors are Nimbo Fork Lodge, Kimo Estate, Wren Store and Styling and Moeys. Coach House Flowers are supplying the bouquets, Borambola Wines are supplying the wines and Carmel Butler Millinery will be supplying a ready-made hat, which is lovely,” said Renee.
“We are up at around $2000 worth of prizes in total across the four categories.”
This year the judges will be looking for head to toe styling but also looking at things like how comfortable people look in their clothes.
“It is overall style, especially with Sue there as one of the judges, she is going to be looking for that as well. It is the whole personal branding and style. Also, best suited is open to everybody. So, for women the pant suit is still very popular, lots of mix and match and headwear is essential across all the categories, regardless of where you enter.”
“Colour wise, this year it is an abundance of colour. There is everything from pastels through to really bold reds and oranges, lots of yellow and pinks and blues. You’ve also got the classic black and white spots, which are huge at the moment, it is just a bit of a mish mash this year. I think the judges will be look-ing for a little bit of an edge this year,” Renee said.
“Locally, we are all really excited and all the stores are really excited to welcome the locals and visi-tors that will be descending upon us,” said Renee.
Entrants can nominate themselves on the day with an on-course facility set up near the main stage, specifically for Fashions on the Field entrants. Judging will commence after Race 3.
