This week, Gundagai Public School’s Senior Boys Basketball team headed to Sydney for the Basketball NSW State Finals.
The team travelled to Sydney on Monday and competed on Tuesday and Wednesday against some of the best teams in the state.
Gundagai Public School said they are very proud of the team.
“This is an incredible opportunity for our players to showcase their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship on the big stage, and they’ve been training hard to make the most of it. We’re so proud of their effort and determination. They’ve played with confidence, teamwork, and plenty of smiles along the way,” said Gundagai Public School.
They had two wins on Tuesday, defeating Saint John Park 28–12 and Cooerwull 37–24 before heading to the cross-over semis.
The BNSW School Tournaments consist of regional tournaments for both Primary and Secondary Schools. These tournaments culminate in the top teams from each region competing at the State Championships, where the best team from NSW will be crowned. These tournaments are open to all New South Wales schools.
