The Gundagai Show is back for its 133rd year on February 14-15, with a jam-packed schedule of events and entertainment, with something for everyone plus some new additions for 2025. Held at the Gundagai Showground, the Show will have the usual array of entertainment including cattle, horses, poultry, show dogs, yard dogs, sideshow alley, pavilion exhibits, sheep, reptiles, a magician, market stalls and petting zoo, but with a few new additions including woodchopping, live entertainment, six bar show jumping, cattle dog trials and the return of the dodgem cars in sideshow alley.
The Capital Country Woodchopping crew are bringing 25 competitors and the event will run on Saturday 15 February from 11am until 3pm.
The six bar show jumping will also be held on Saturday at the Main Arena at 6pm. There will also be live entertainment prior to and after the show jumping.

Dan McDonnell, Gundagai Pastoral and Agricultural Society President says the other main feature event for this year is the cattle dog trials.
“The cattle dog trials are something that we have run for a number of years, but we’ve never really pushed it as a main event. It is a very entertaining event to watch and the beauty of it is that it is free, it is nice and cool being held at night time, and you can come and be entertained for free,” Dan said.

The cattle dog trials will be held on Friday 14 February at 6pm with free entry for all spectators plus a bar and BBQ.
Dan said the committee wants to ensure that the day out will be fun filled for all, but that patrons won’t have to continually dip back in to their pockets.
“Everything involved in our schedule of events is free of charge once you enter, excluding sideshow alley. There is plenty of entertainment available for free so that you don’t have to dip back in to your pocket,” Dan said.
Dan encourages everyone to come along for a great family day out to the local show that supports and showcases the Gundagai community.

“The Gundagai Show showcases our district and beyond, and we continue to see the very best agricultural exhibits and community displays on offer each year.”
“The Show embraces tradition with a modern twist, all while celebrating community, agriculture and good old-fashioned fun. It is also the perfect opportunity to immerse the kids in to the world of agriculture and rural life.”
“We are very proud of our annual show and the community spirit that it generates. We are so appreciative of the support we receive, and the show would not survive without the local community, Council and the generous support from our committee, members, sponsors and advertisers,” Dan said.
Entry in to the event is $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-16, $5 for pensioners, $35 for a family and children under 5 are free.
