The Muttama Hall is commemorating 100 years in May 2025.
The Muttama Hall Management Committee is hosting a 100-year Centenary celebration next May, to commemorate 100 years since the hall was officially opened.
Muttama Hall was officially opened at a gala ball on 20 May 1925 and the Management Committee are hoping to recreate a similar celebration 100 years on.
The celebrations, which will run over the weekend of the 17th and 18th May 2025 at the Muttama Hall and surrounding grounds, will include a ticketed sit-down dinner on the Saturday night with a catered meal and guest speakers, and the Sunday will be a family fun day, including hot air balloon tether rides, local dance and musical performances, a barbecue, market stalls and an official time capsule ceremony, where current children of Muttama will place items inside a time capsule.

Muttama Hall Management Committee President Robert Flint said there is a strong sense of respect for the hall within he community and this is why the committee wants to celebrate the Centenary.
“Many former families have left the area as properties have been amalgamated over time, but there is still a strong sense of connection and respect for the hall because of the social cohesion it supported and the contribution made by so many over time.”
“We are inviting all former and present residents of Muttama and surrounding areas to join us in celebrating this significant milestone for the hall and township.”

“We are also looking to obtain any imagery or memorabilia anyone may have that could help us bring Muttama’s history to life for the event. Please let the committee know if you have anything that we could use,” Robert said.
The Muttama Hall was built after World War 1 to provide a venue for meetings, social, commemorative and national remembrance events and is a registered war memorial as are it’s Roll of Honour Boards, with the NSW Government’s Office of Veterans Affairs.
The Hall has been awarded multiple grants since 2016 which highlights its historical and cultural significance within the region. The grants have enabled the building to be restored and conserved over recent years.
